The umbrella body of Models in Ghana, Models Union of Ghana (MODUGA) is by this Press Statement entreating all Model Agencies and Event organizers’ to accordingly sign Terms and Condition/Performance Agreement with any model that either expresses interest through auditioning or is contracted to perform a specific role.
Models Union of Ghana (MODUGA), consist of model agencies, model managers and models and is aimed at improving lifestyle and welfare of models and it various stakes. MODUGA is regulated by the Ministry of Tourism Culture and Creative Art and it is also a proud member of the Ghana Cultural Forum and Creative Art Council.
We reckon the introduction of such official agreement and statement will end the shocks both models and model agencies experience in the execution of their legal and creative mandate. We are privy to the fact that some model agencies use, misuse, abuse and dump their hired or auditioned models. On the other hand, models sometimes get better deals elsewhere and clandestinely excuse or abandon the previous.
It is against this background that, we are requesting both to document their concordance to and forestall such occurrence.
Indiscipline, non performance among other violations should be the basis of any ineligibility of already contracted models.
This we believe will accelerate the speedy growth and development of the Ghanaian model industry.
